Paruppu Vadai Aamai Vadai

This is a perfect Indian fritter best served during Indian celebrations starting from marriage,diwali,pongal,christmas etc. It is a great snack. Here are the steps to prepare paruppu vadai.
Ingredients Needed :
Thuvarai Paruppu / Thoor Dhal - 1 cup
Channa dhal/Kadalai Paruppu - 1 cup
Urad Dhal/Ulutham Paruppu - 1 cup
Moong Dhal/Paitham Paruppu - 1/2 cup
Salt - as needed
Curry Leaves - 1 string
Water - as needed
Red chillies - 10 (as needed)
Asafoetida/perungayam - as needed
Onion - finely chopped onions - 1 big onion - This is an optional ingredient
Method Of Preparation :
1) Choke thoor dhal, channa dhal, urad dhal (everything together) in water for 2 hours
2) Choke moong dhal in water separately
3) Grind thoordhal,channa dhal,urad dhal in grinder with salt, red chillies,asafoetida powder
4) Once this mixture is fine-grained (say about 10 minutes), add moong dhal and grind well
5) Remove when the mixture is in coarse consistency
6) Add a string of curry leaves,onions to the paruppu mixture. Mix well
7) Heat oil in a pan
8) Fry small fritters
this can be best served alongside coconut chutney
