Andhrapradesh the southern state in India is noted for its spicy exotic recipes. One such food noted for its best digestive capabilities is the telengana rasam.
Ingredients Needed :
Tomatoes - 2 cut and finely chopped
Tamarind - 1 cup water and made into fine paste
Red chillies - 2 (or) 3 depending on spice level
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Garlic - 2 cloves
Curry leaves - 2 strand
Corriander leaves - garnishing purpose
Mustard - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 2tsp
Pepper powder - 1tsp
Salt - to taste
oil - 1 tsp for garnishing
Method of preparation :
1) Mix tomatoes, turmeric powder,salt,water,tamarind paste in a vessel. Add water and mix well. Heat well until it gets boiled and cooked
2) Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, cumin seeds, curry leaves,red chillies, garlic cloves
3) Mix this to boiling rasam
4) Sprinkle corriander leaves as final garnishing
Serve hot with the rice.
