Milagai Kuzhambu Kai Kootu as it is variously called is the Mixed Vegetable Spicy Chillie Soup that can be skilanerved as a main course along with rice, chapathi side dish. It is also called as kadambam kuzhambu.
Ingredients Needed :
Brinjal - 200g
Okra - 250g
sepankilangu (this is the root used for chips) - 5
Sweet squash/sweet pumpkin/red pumpkin - 250g
Kothalvirangai - 100 g
Flat valor/avaraikai - 100g
Dondakkai/Tindora - 100g
White pumpkin - 250g
Tamarind - lemon size - soaked in 2 tumbler water
Channa Dhal - 1 tumbler soaked in water overnight
Green Chillies - 100g
Method of preparation :
1) Cut all vegetables in equal size. Add tamarind water. Slit green chillies lengthwise and add it. Place it in cooker for 5 minutes.
2) Pressure cook sepankilangu and channa dhal seperately
3) Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, asafoetida,curry leaves,red chillies.
4) Add all the ingredients and mix well
5) Boil in flame for 2 minutes
6) If it is too watery add a tsp of rice flour/arisi mavu to make it thick
Add salt as needed and serve hot.
