Sooji upma is an instant dish that can be prepared in 5 minutes. It can be plain sooji upma (or) we can spice it up with vegetables. I happened to see sooji upma mix packeted in shops today. Though it is a simple dish, people think it is difficult.
Ingredients Needed :
Onion - 1
Tomatoes -1 (optional)
Potato - 1 (optional)
Green chillies - 2
Ginger - small piece
Oil - as needed
Salt - as needed
Sooji - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Method of preparation :
1) Finely diced onions are to be deepfried.
2) Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, chillies, onion and fry will. Add a pinch of salt. If you choose to add optional potatoes, tomatoes add and fry well
3) Pour 2 cups of water and allow it to boil
4) Add 1 cup of sooji and mix well
5) Decorate with corriander leaves
Serve hot. This can be best served alongside onion raitha, sambar.
