I was looking for an enhanced version of my side curry and choose to make lentil usili. Popularly called Paruppu (Paruppu means lentils) usili is a popular south Indian recipe goes extremely well with all sambhar, kuzhambu, Morkuzhambu (yogurt kuzhambu in particular).
Ingredients Needed :
Ttordhal + Channa Dhal - Soak in water for two hours
Salt - as needed
Red chillies - Spice level
Hing - as needed
Method of Preparation :
1) Grind the lentils and red chillies, hing, salt
2) Make small balls and steam it in cooker
3) If you want more feast in a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds and then add the ground mixture and fry well
4) Pressure cook beans (or) cook carrot, banana vegatable or vegetable of your choice
5) Add the lentil mixture at end and mix well
