Paruppu Pradhaman, Moong dhal Paruppu Pradhaman, kesar dhal paruppu pradhaman is a desert that can be served at the end of a dinner.
It is same as popular dish payasam.
Ingredients Needed :
Moong Dhal/Kesar Dhal/Siru Paruppu - 1 cup
Coconut Milk - 1 cup
Diced coconut flakes - 1 cup
Cashewnut - 1 tsp
Raisins (dried grapes/thratchai) - 2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Rice - 1cup
Jaggery/Vellam/Sugarcane jaggery - 1cup
Water - as needed
Method of preparation :
1) Fry the siruparuppu/moong dhal/kesar dhal and boil the siru paruppu/moong dhal/kesar dhal along with rice using water
2) Add jaggery to water and boil it to get what is called as vella paghu/jaggery sweetener
3) Add the jaggery sweetener to the dhal and rice mixture
4) Add coconut milk to the mixture
5) Allow the mixture to boil
6) Add fried cashewnuts, raisins(dried grapes)
7) Fry diced coconut flakes in ghee
8) Add fried coconut flakes to the mixture
9) Stir the mixture
Serve the dessert hot.
