I had some chayote left over and wanted to prepare yogurt soup aks mor kuzhambu using this chayote. As I have been consuming heavy foods all week long, I was hesitant to use coconut. Hence, found an interesting instant recipe without coconut
Ingredients Needed:
Chayote - Diced - 1 or 2 based on need. Boil in water for few minutes
oil - as needed
Mustard seeds, red chillies, curryleaves for garnishing
channa dhal, urad dhal - for garnishing
Salt - as needed
Sambhar powder/vathakuzhambu powder - I prefer any of of these over red chilli powder - 1tsp
Yogurt - Beatn 1 cup - Add pinch of turmeric and salt
MEthod of Preparation:
1) Heat oil in pan
2) Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, urad dhal, channa dhal and fry well
2) Add boiled chayote, pinch of salt and mix well
3) Add sambhar powder, little water and let is boil
4) After few mins add yogurt mix well and switch off the kuzhambu
