Masal vadai is the indian fritter that is really exotic, mouth-watering and a common tiffin among Indians.
Ingredients Needed :
Channa dhal/yellow gram/kadalai paruppu - 1 cup
Finely chopped onions - 1/2 cup
Finely chopped corriander leaves - 1/2cup
Finely chopped dill leaves - 1/2 cup
Green chillies - 4 - finely chopped
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dhania9perunjeeragam) - 1/2 tsp - This is an optional ingredient. If you are a pure vegeterian and don't prefer masalas this can be avoided
Oil - as needed
Salt - as neeeded
Method Of Preparation :
1) Soak the dhal in water for 4 hours
2) After keeping 2tsp dhal aside, rest of the dhal is grind into a fine paste
3) Now mix the whole dhal with grind mixture, onion, corriander, dill leaves,chillies, salt together. You can add 1tsp hot oil to mixture. As an alternate add 1tsp of coarse corn flour to the mixture. This gives the equivalent consistency
4) Make pattie shaped rounds with palm
5) Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry these pattis.
This fritter can be served hot alongside chutneys, ketchup etc
