Wireless Networking Detecting Intruder/Hacker

Wireless networking is catching on these days as it provides the flexibility to work while eating, relaxing, watching movies, shows etc.
Wireless networking is the king now.
But there are some serious security threats associated with wireless networking.
There is a great chance that some intruder may be using our wireless network without our knowledge.
So, now comes in the question - Can I smoke their presence?
Answer is absolutely yes.
We'll be discussing few methods to smoke the intruders in this post :
1) Turn off all computer, wireless devices. Now check the WAN (Wide Area Network) light on the WAP (Wireless Access Point). If its still flasing, it is an indication that there is still traffic on the network.
2) In case of a standalone WAP(Wireless Access Point), unplug it from the network. If the activity light stops blinking, we have an intruder.
3) Check the DHCP log to IP information. Loginto the router or WAP (Wireless Access Point) and check this log. If we see some entry like :
"Linksys BEFW11S4 router/WAP"
This indicates that devices are connected to the network.
4) ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) cache can be checked
