Fish - a rich source of Vitamin B complex, Omega 3 fatty acids has great medicinal benefits.Para amino benzoic acid (PABA) is good for hair growth, prevents premature hair-graying.Omega 3 fatty acids are good for healthy brain growth and eye formation.
Ingredients Needed :
500 gms fish
curd blended smooth - 2 cup
Mustard Oil - 5 tsp
Flour - 1 tsp
Bay leaf,cinnamon, cardamom - 1
Ginger grounded to paste - 1
Onion grounded to paste - 1
Red chilly powder - 2
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1tsp
Salt To Taste
Method Of Preparation :
1) Cut fish onto cubes, or as traditional cross-section.
2) Roll pieces separately in flour.
3) Heat oil in a pan
4) Fry fish till pale golden
5) Drain and keep aside
6) Add remaining oil and fry bay leaf, cardamom and cinnamon
7) Add ginger, onion, chilli powder turmeric and cummin
8) A little water may be added if it becomes too dry.Fry for a while
9) Add blended curd
10) Simmer on slow fire till oil comes up on top. This is point wherein masala is fully cooked.
11) Add fish with a little water,salt and sugar.Simmer till gravy is thick golden.
Yogurt fish can be served as a main course alongside rice. It can also be served as a sidedish with chapathi,roti,dosa,idli etc
