This job primarily involves very good communication. HL7 engineer is the primary contact who keeps in touch with business analyst, project manager and all the stake holders. Following are some of the responsibilities of an HL7 engineer/implementation consultant 1) Configure EMR/EHR platform including front-end and back-end functionality to ensure proper utilization and functionality of customer business workflows - This involves good front end as well as back-end database knowledge 2) HL7 engineer should validate the implementation results against requirement document and make sure configurations are in accordance with established requirements 3) They need to make sure the implementation is in compliance with HL7 standards 4) Communicate/escalate issues to the appropriate department to promptly and effectively address issues 5) Help client-facing project managers with client expectation management during the implementation phase. Good Project management knowledge becomes mandate 6) Document all client-interactions including telephone calls, sessions, emails, etc in CRM systems. This becomes mandate for project Maangers interaction with client and to track project progress 7) Ensures and verifies integrity of interface data prior to escalation to other department.
