Differences between prm and frm frm vs prm
This is my perspective on the differences between the two famous risk designations - PRM and FRM
1) FRM is offered by GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals). PRM is offered by PRMIA (Professional Risk Manager Association).
2) FRM is offered in two parts - Level I and Level II. FRM 2009 is the only FRM Full Exam option available. PRM is offered in 4 parts. All the exams can be taken together or seperately. Four major exams for PRM designation are - Finance Theory, Financial Instruments and Markets, Mathematical foundations of risk measurement, risk management practices, Case Studies : Standards, governance, best practices and ethics.
3) FRM gives more information on risk management. PRM has a greater concentration on quantitative methods.
4) Both are globally accepted risk certifications.
