Importance of quality management for PMP aspirant

As a PMP aspirant you will have to learn more on quality management that starts with quality plan creation that comes as part of planning process group, performing quality assurance that is included in execution process group, performing quality control that is part of monitoring and control process group. Now, if you are preparing for PMP exam first understand the quality definition clearly. What does a quality mean for pmp aspirant? As per PMBOK, quality is the degree to which project deliverable meets requirements. This is a relative term and should be noted that quality totally depends on requirements. Now, comes two essentially important document on requirements, scope statement and requirements documentation Scope statement - scope of the project including what is expected as deliverable is defined in scope Requirements documentation - What is required as part of the deliverable is defined in requirements documentation Say, a customer wants a login screen design Scope statement - Need to develop login screen Requirements document Need a login screen with the following fields - username, password, forgot username, forgot password, register new user, submit button Color coding details - Red button, white background, fields should be black in color, links should be blue in color when normal, clickable link should turn into black color Login screen behavior - Must be able to accept new username, existing username should throw error, user should be activated, password should meet criteria Activation Behavior - Every valid registered user should be activated, activation link will expire in 3 hours Say based on the above example if the customer gets a login screen designed with yellow submit button. IS this a quality deliverable? As per PMP certified project managers who are considered top notch in industry, the answer is NO. Now, lets revisit the term quality definition - Degree upto which project deliverable meets requirements. There is a simple color code requirement breach on button.
