Windows Device Manager - which has its debut in Windows 95, was obsolete in Windows NT. Windows releases after NT 4.0 had Windows device manager in tham.
Uses of windows device manager :
1) Helps in assiting problems related to hardware
2) Windows device manager is used to check the current status of the hardware
3) It is used to configure device properties and settings
4) It is used to uninstall and reinstall hardware. This can only be done by personnel with administrative system privilege. If a normal uses tries these tasks following error popsup :
"You do not have sufficient security privileges to uninstall devices or to change device properties or device drivers. Please contact your site administrator, or logout and log in again as an administrator and try again."
5) It is used to update, view, rollback device drivers

1) Right click on My computer
2) Select properties
3) Click the general tab
4) Click the device manager button
