In recent past many bloggers in personal blogging space claim themselves to be guru in this area. It can be absolutely true. Interestingly they promote their e-books, digital courses, one on one personal coaching for hefty fees. Surprisingly I found a financial bloggers who has been in this space so long and hence considered popular charging $500-$1000 per day for financial coaching.
I want to disclose reality behind these myth so that our beloved readers can think before spending their hard earned money on these coaching programs
1) You are doing the right thing - When you think of joining such coaching program to make more money, save more money you are already in a mood to make money, save money, grow money. Then why need a separate coaching on this? In our analysis this could be result of lack of confidence thinking you need to do much better. To overcome this write down all the steps you have taken or considering to take towards MONEY. Do some comparative analysis of your thoughts Vs the blog articles these professionals claim to be doing on daily basis. If this is 50% in sync, you ar eon trac and don't need coaching. IF totally different then perform comparative analysis to see which will work better. At the end of this if you find real good value in this coaching program, go ahead and avail it. If not stay confident and proceed as per your plan
2) Too much information - Information is wealth. These days we have too much information and what ever gets listed in first page of google happens to be credible information. I myself don't choose to navigate past second google page. This is the case with money management blogging. Say, if they talk about a financial product you are not aware of and find useful, immediately your mind makes you believe that he is an expert in this arena. That may or may not be true. Careful analysis helps
3) Too many things in mind - This is tax season. I'm exploring ways to bring down my CPA cost. I'm looking at H&R block, turbo tax, local CPA reviews, talking to friends, reading IRS tax information. My spouse advised me to stay calm. End of the day we don't need to be too much knowledgeable on each and every thing. This too much stress makes you take incorrect decision at times. Same concept does apply here
As such think twice before spending on such courses, webinars, seminars. However, if you want a break and get a sponsored webinar you can avail it for a change :)
Now, look for someone professionally certified to plan your finances like someone wiht experience and CFP credential in USA etc to plan your future roadmap rather than relying on bloggers who claim to be gurus
