Create posts rather than focussing on SEO

Too much of anything is good for nothing. Same does apply to Search Engine Optimization popularly called SEO. Last few months I was bit by SEO bug and started consolidating some of my sites by following simple procedure:
1) Remove link from old site using Google Webmaster Tools. Google search console is google webmaster now, that does allow you to disvow the links. Say, you are migrating post and don't want to re-direct posts for SEO reasons. In this case you can disvow current links. You approve google that these links are not legally valid any more. Thus new website with content from old website is not considered duplicate. This is a measure to avoid google penalty
2) Import the posts from old to new site - In case of sites maintained using wordpress this is a piece of cake. We can utilize plugins for this purpose
3) Redirect old website to new website. I can't let them die as these are sites with great domain authority, page authority for which I probably need to pay thousands of dollars. So, better retain them and sell it when the live site gets sold (destination in our case)
Without knowing what I was doing, I've been following SEO best practices from day 1 of my blogging in blogspot. After first year I purchased hosting with my new domain. There I think I was using site builder (if my memory holds good..to be honest don't remember what it was...but not wordpress). Later around 2010 I purchased hosting and domain from godaddy . Installed my first wordpress in less than 5 mins. Ever since that day, I've used permalinks with post-name which is best practice SEO recommendation, creating and posting original, unique, quality posts, tracking my visitors using analytics, commenting on relevant sites etc
Last month onwards I got too much involves in SEO I believe :)
As a result when I create a post in a website, lets take example of this website itself I think too much on niche. This website covers money as such. It can be from online blogging, saving money, credit card rewards, survey sites , affiliate programs that I'm using and more on money.
In blogging space there has been ton lot of discussion on single niche versus multiple niche. So, it can be that I should blog about making money online, entrepreneurship only as many of my posts are geared towards that as of now. But if I come across interesting deal shouldn't I share with my beloved readers?
I made up my mind to write posts as free flowing thoughts rather than thinking too much about all these. As a pleasant surprise, yesterday my alexa ranking has been really rocking. This ranking is a great sweet spot as I've been in this space so long and know how difficult it would be to get to this spot. So, all I can say is develop discipline, blog atleast one post per day. Rest of the things happens automatically :)
Creating Blogposts Snowball Effect:
One of the major hurdles that I have stumbled upon all these years is choosing blog post title. In case of technology blogs I find it extremely easy. For a blog like this supporting entrepreneur, managing finances, digital media marketing, supporting small business I find it extremely difficult while choosing blog topics.
For the past few days, I retain sticky notes while blogging. When we blog and try to convey certain point another thought that is related but appears to be broad topic does pop-up. Such topics can be noted down in sticky notes and can be future posts.
Creating blogposts creates snowball effect and we can develop the discipline to blog more. All it needs is start today and the ball automatically keeps rolling
For a budding blogger my simple advice would be don't think too much. Simply scrap simple things. Honestly speaking people like simple things. As a matter of fact blogging is evolution. Posts evolve over time. Keep revisiting your posts that are performing well and keep content fresh and evergreen. This improves your search engine visibility.
