This is the routine that the maternity nurse is going to teach any new mom, new dad. Now, simple question is do I really need to apply diaper rash cream every time I change the diaper of my baby?
The answer to this question is not straight forward. It depends on many factors
The answer to this question is not straight forward. It depends on many factors
- Apply diaper rash cream if you see that rashes develop in diaper area
- In countries that make use of cloth diaper, it is a traditional practice to leave the diaper area open for it to be dry and be in contact with air. They don't apply any cream in the area
- Rash cream can be applied once in a while say between every other diaper change
- Ask your pediatrician to assess the baby skin. They can easily determine if you even need a rash cream. It would be interesting to know that if your baby's skin is not too sensitive pediatrician might even ask you to atop using the cream altogether
