We have been living in parsippany NJ for about a decade and we see lots of changes ever since we moved to parsippany NJ locality. I still remember our first apartment community colonial heights located at 300 parsippany road , parsippany NJ 07054. When we rented this 1 bedroom apartment I don't remember a swimming pool fee associated with the lease clause
After 1 year we got to know more about this locality. This made us look out for an economic apartment community in parsippany NJ area. We stumbled on lakeview gardens apartment community. At that point-in-time it was one of the Garden communities apartment to have very reasonable rent. However, I remember a swim club fee of $200 then. As both of us don't know swimming, we asked them to waive it. They said it may not be possible.
It is interesting to note that they had apartment availability in Redstone drive located at vail road that is 2 mins from lakeview gardens. Interestingly there was no swimming pool but still we had to pay the swim club fees
We moved to new apartment community last year. Again we paid $160 towards swim club fees. This week we got the rental lease renewal, met the apartment community manager and clearly mentioned that we dont know swimming, and asked what can be done. She mentioned that there are cases of exception if there is a proof showing that you have skin allergies, swimming pool skin allergies caused by chlorine or such allergens . This needs a solid medical proof with supporting evidence from a general physician locally in USA or from a country outside USA in professional official doctor letterhead
We are chlorine allergic and got the letter from our general physician about this. Our manager mentioned that they will check with swimming pool manager to make sure the water is purified by chlorine. If so the swim club fee can be waived as part of this lease extension. Otherwise, if it happens to be clear water swimming pool there is no possibility of waiver. Today morning we got a confirmation that the swim pool is chlorine purified and our fee can be waived
