Today I was checking the settings section of my gmail to do some changes in my profile. I happened to notice an interesting option called keyboard shortcuts under General Section Of Settings.
There was an option named keyboard shortcuts. It was the second option below the Maximum page size. I took some time to explore its details. Here is an interesting article on keyboard shortcuts in gmail.
The option keyboard shortcuts is set to keyboard shortcut off by default. If we make changes to it and click on save changes.
To my surprise I again disabled it, saved the changes and tried shortcuts. It still worked fine. I did a log off and after that keyboard shortcut didn't work. Same thing happened when I enabled this, saved it and tried a shortcut. I had to logout and login again.
As a conclusion, whenever you many any changes to settings parameter, save it, you need to logout and login again for changes to take effect.
So, start by clicking on keyboard shortcut on. Save the changes. Perform a logout. Login again.

How do I cut unnecessary expenses?

As I've been saying before it is very essential to "SAVE MONEY TO MAKE GREAT MONEY". So, where do I start? You can start cutting your unnecessary expenses. I've given the steps that I followed and which helped me cut down my expenses by about $60 this month. I'm planning to follow the same procedure in forthcoming months and I'm sure that I'll save more
1) Filed all my bills for this month. In includes my grocery bills from Walmart, gas station bills, outing bills(money spent by me in restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, even chocolate expenses), phone bill, workout bill, house rent, laundry bill (money spent by me in washing my clothes), energy bills etc
2) I created a spread sheet and entered the information
3) I found that I was paying $40 towards my cell phone bill which I was using hardly. I recently relocated to a new home which is closer to my office. I make use of my cell phone for emergency purposes only. I thought of cutting down the bills and browsed the website of my service provider where I couldn't find any useful information. So, I called up customer service representative and enquired about cheap plans. I then took their information and moved to a prepaid plan. I've gone for a one year card worth $107 (inclusive of taxes). I saved more than $30 in my bills

Device drivers are programs which help in firmware management. In simple terms to make the OS detect a hardware device some programs need to be installed which act as interface. These programs are referred to as device drivers.
Here are the steps in windows 7 to get to know list of device drivers installed in the system.
Click Start. Type msinfo32. Click Enter. This opens the system information window. Click on Software Environment icon in the left hand side side bar. This shows message "Select a sub category". Click on System Drivers. This starts with a message Refreshing system information.

Export Excel Columns Into CSV (Comma Seperated Value) Files in Windows XP

I've migrated some of my feeds today. For that purpose I needed a tool to export the list of email addresses from the excel sheet into a CSV file (say a notepad in my case). I was wondering if I could do it in 30 minutes. I had whole lot of email addresses and it would take atleast 6 hours if I do the job manually.
I found an interesting way to save excel information into csv file in windows XP
1) First open the file using excel
2) Click on File. Click on Save As. This pops up a window. Say if you want to save details as abcd.csv (filename,csv), choose filetype Comma Seperated Value (CSV) in second drop-down box. Click Save
3) Click Yes in popup
4) Click on File Menu and Click Close. This will popup. Again Press Yes
5) Now Click on Exit
To my surprise I found the abcd.csv file saved as an excel file. I could open it as a normal excel file. Now it's time to export your email ID's.
1) Right click on the abcd.csv file
2) Open with Notepad. To my surprise I found comma seperated email Id's in seperate lines. It should be noted that when you export CSV file from feedburner feeds, first remove unnecessary columns. In my case I only needed email (first column). I even deleted first row which said email (column name). I performed this task after doing this
3) Now press Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C (To select all and copy all the notepad information)
4) Now I logged into my gmail account. In address box, I just did a Ctrl+V (paste).
5) Now I pressed tab and moved to subject box. To my surprise they perfectly got arranged
Eureka...I'm done with this cubersome task. It all took me 10 minutes to finish this work...Eureka I saved 5 golden hours of mine which I can make use of to blog more interesting articles.
Note : At times I wonder if some email accounts really exist. They remain in unverified state for more than 5 months. If you want to check such details by shooting an email this strategy is very easy, simple and helpful.
Another interesting information I noticed today is that, if I try sending email to more than 50 recipients (more than 50 email ID's) in my ymail, I end up in error. Today, My gmail helped me mail more than 200 people at a single point of time..Google And Its Products Rock...Great Job Gmail Team.

Today I stumbled upon an interesting Windows 7 feature called as Windoes 7 Search rebuild feature. Whenever I hear of the terms index, it reminds me of different database options.
Rebuild Index is another database term based on which I've already published few posts. While we perform search in Windows 7 OS, index comes into picture. Over a period of time it gets piled up and searching process becomes slow. In such cases we can rebuild index. It is to be noted that this is a resource consuming long time process and hence should be done when there is no resource constraint. Here are the steps to rebuild index in windows 7
1) Click Start-> Control Panel-> Indexing Options
2) Click on Indexing Options. This opens the Indexing Options window
3) Click on Advanced tab at the bottom
4) Advanced Options window open up. Click on rebuild button. This starts the process of Index Rebuild
5) Click OK. Windows 7 begins indexing fresh. Windows 7 deletes the old index and starts indexing anew

Quick Launch Toolbar is missing in Windows 7. Windows 7 has an interesting feature of pinning and unpinning programs. Whenever a software is running an icon representing it automatically gets pinned to task bar at bottom.If the program is not running we can right click on program and click on Pin to task bar option.
 
To unpin a program, right click on the program pinned to task bar at the bottom. Click on unpin this program from taskbar . This automatically releases the program.

USCIS I-140 Address Change Filing Online Offline

Most of the readers ask me questions on address change during the green card processing. Most of the PERM cases have been approved in recent months.The next most important step is I-140. Within 180 days (6 months approximately) of PERM approval, I-140 has to be filed with USCIS (United States Immigration Services).
