Linkedin.com provides career progression of employee and entrepreneur

I still remember creating my curriculum vitae as a student and posting it in job portals like dice.com,monster.com,careerbuilder.com and regularly checking my mail inbox for job enquiry mails from recruiters. Times changes ever since linkedin.com came into existence around 2008. I still remember creating my first personal linkedin.com profile account around 2008.
I am very happy to see linkedin.com growing real good all these years. They have always been a class apart as compared to other job portals owing to fact that this gives more credibility. In addition to this you can get reviews, recommendations from colleagues, co-workers , add more skills to your profile, be in touch with recruiter directly using linkedin.com inBox email.
With linkedin.com Premium features you get even more. You can get list of people looking at your profile anonymously, get to mail people via inMail and establish network connections with lots of professionals in your domain
As such these days I see linkedin.com emerging as all round professional portal as they offer blogposting, Education corner, Q&A corner and what more can a learner and job seeker expect from professional portal?
As such yo can share your knowledge , skills , expertise by posting in linkedin.com. This automatically gets published to all your connections. This gives more visibility among the connections who are prospective managers, recruiters, employers. Even if you are learning a skill and creating post on your knowledge this progression will help you land in your target job
Here is a simple tip to crack the job of your choice. When we mean job of our choice it includes jobrole, location, career level and many other factors. Linkedin.com offers opportunity to pick such jobs. Interestingly many of them have recruiter detail in right hand side. Try to establish connection with recruiter directly and send them message and note on why you show interest in this job. This will help you grab your next job.
Also, we can include our past projects, current projects, publications, e-Book detail, presentation slideshares and more to our profile. Make it a habit to update your profile as soon as you develop a skill. Even in case of selecting all the languages you know, it is interesting to note that you can choose level of proficiency. This helps
I've given this post title linkedin.com for career progression - Here the catchy word is progression. Yes we develop and progress professionally and can update our progress in linkedin profile. This may not be possible in job portals. Try to create a free linkedin.com professional profile, network with people, join appropriate groups, progress professionally
Entrepreneur Career Progression Using Linkedin.com
So far we have been talking about typical job seeker, fulltime job seeker looking to grow professionally leveraging linkedin.com features. As such this blog is more of entrepreneurship and startup and I see that an entrepreneur can grow his business better using linkedin.com as compared to facebook.com. Primary reason being professional network has real serious leads looking for business partnership, tie-ups, interested in your product, member of groups that are governed by this professional networking company. All these help you develop a discipline when you spend time on linkedin.com as well as grow your business

How does society look at entrepreneur

As an entrepreneur online ,offline, full-time, part-time society has a major impact on each and every one of us. Let me start with a simple story.
This weekend we had some guests. They work in major corporates. After an interesting lunch they enquired about our profession and I've showcased my work on our blog networks and explained my work.
They had their own questions. After lots of discussion it turned out that I'm wasting time and my vision is meaningless. I avoid arguments as I stop arguing with my beloved friends to maintian real good relationship.
This is a common issue that many entrepreneur does face on daily basis. Here are my thoughts on society and its impact on entrepreneurship
1) You Know Your Vision - Vision is more of subjective in nature. As this is not objective you know your vision, you are clear and confident that your vision is a target that can be definitely achieved, don't worry
2) You look at opportunity and your friends look at threat - This can be double edge sword. Your truly loving friends care a lot about you, they don't want you to miss your life, career, growth and advise you to be careful when you travel on your subjective vision. There is nothing wrong about that. Mostly people are scared of threats. An opportunity be it simple job change does carry some risk in it and is a threat indded. As an entrepreneur you dare to take risk
3) Society's doubt on your focus - This is a major problem many entrepreneur faces in their business life. Entrepreneurship is a 5 to 9 game not a 9 to 5 game. At times you need to extend, extend, extend. It demands lots of hard work during first few years and success is not guaranteed. Can you be focussed after lots of pressure? If you are confident of your focus and attitude don't give importance to society
4) Opinion differs - Your idea is naive and you see some opportunity in there. There is no need of a second person looking at things the same way. If you are sure of your opinion don't hesitate to try new things

Entrepreneur needs little break for improved productivity

Any hard working personnel needs a break. That should be relaxing, completely refreshing, should make him more productive, active, work hard without any mental block.
Entrepreneurs are optimistic challengers who choose to start their own venture quitting their high paying jobs, stable jobs, promising career all for personal satisfaction, best bright beautiful future. Best things are product of best work. As such initial days of any business owner is the phase wherein he/she architects their product. This comes with lots of hardwork, sacrifice, pressure, no income (atleast for first few days), money leak (they need to pay first employees without any income) and lots of fun memories that they can cherish in future.
Now, in this post lets cover some interesting tips that anyone aiming to achieve their goal can make use of as a refreshing coffee
1) Coffee For Entrepreneur - Drinking Coffee can be a real break. If you don't have this habit stick to water the elixir of life. This frees your mind of pressure, makes your mind really fresh, helps you keep yourself more active
2) Little Nap - Instead of sleeping for long hours little nap will give the stamina, energy, attitude, concentration, focus needed to accomplish the goals
3) Little walk can help - Walk or perform simple exercises that helps you stay active. An entrepreneur is too much pressurized and needs physical activity to show improved productivity

Simple plain litmus test for Entrepreneur

As a person aspiring to launch your own business that can be a result of necessity like taking over family business, interest to become first generation entrepreneur can all be equally demanding. Once you succeed you enjoy the real fruits of your hardwork.
As an individual here is a simple set of points that I've written down in my personal sticky notes right now to see if I fit in this scene. I want to share this with my beloved friends. You can try this litmus test all by yourself
1) Am I focussed? Currently I'm reading the book The One Thing and feel that laser focus is esentially important for great success in any arena. Be it a simple exercise routine until upto complex entrepreneurship. So, first question is do you have something to focus on? If not my adive would be THINK THINK THINK..It is true. You need to really THINK before you start a venture. When I originally started the idea had been to start something and eventually this will progress. This is to make sure we don't develop laziness and do something to break resistance. But after reading the book I realize that it should be identifying RIGHT SPOT before starting your work
2) Can you work 30 mins extra after reaching home? Every single day fo the week, be it saturday, sunday, you are on vacaiton, at home, party can you choose to spend 30 mins every day on your venture. It cna be as simple as replying back to custoemr comments or quesitons? If so you have inherent attitude to win exremely big. TRUST THAT FIRMLY
3) Can you change your sleeping pattern? YOu cna be night owl or morning bird. In general you have fresh mind once you choose to do things early in the morning. So, can you get up 5 mins earlier than your current schedule. You cna go to bed 30 mins earlier. Not a problem. Make sure you sleep atleast 8 hours every day. If you answer is yes, you have entrepreneurial spirit which is time flexibility if need be
4) Test before Implementation ? This can be so simple by starting a side venture for some extra income. As I mentioned earlier start spending 30 mins a day for first 3 months. You will really learn if this will fit you. I've attempted many ventures in past. Certian few niche websites might sound easy n beginning. Trust me I couldn't pursue after 1 month and this has been stalled or merged. So, if you want to do something you should be knowledgable about it,be interested in learning about it, atleast should not find it extremely boring as this might be your life-time venture
5) Do you budget monthly? Surprisingly if you are someone with regular discipline about your money trust me, you cna be extremely successful in business. Business is money to some extent self-satisfaction for founder. So, if you are strict with spending try to see if you cna create a simple excel trackign your expense for next 60 days. Discipline in simple terms is continuously practising certian things. This cna be real simple things like creating a budget, saving 25 cents in savings box daily etc
6) A man is a product of his thinking - Knowledge is power and thoughts grow as we learn more. So, practice habit of developing some skills daily. As a step towards this I've started reading the book The One Thing last month and made an oath to read atleat one page per day. So, far I'm happy that I do stick to this. So, develop some skills to sustain your business
